Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Quite by accident I discovered a new-to-me brand this week: Nanette Lepore. I was skimming the racks at Marshall's and spotted a cute patterned shirt by NL. Grabbed it, kept going, spotted another really cute pattern, Nanette Lepore again! I ultimately decided against both shirts as they were rayon, but thought it would be worth looking up more NL stuff online. A few days later, stepped into another Marshall's, saw some cute embroidered, block heel sandals, and of course they were NL! I don't know if it's a new label for Marshall's or if this season's collection is just really catching my eye, but it was weird to keep having the NL pieces jump out at me like that!

    1. It's her lower priced line for Marshalls/.tjmaxx. It's been around (at least in the midwest and east coast marshals) for at least the last two years.

    2. Interesting, I didn't know there were lines (by any brand) specific to Marshall's. That explains why it's common to see the same pieces at several stores.

    3. I have loved Nanette Lepore for years! Nanette has been around since at least 2000, and probably earlier. Her clothing is sold at Neiman's, Saks, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales, and Shopbop online and through the years she has diversified into less expensive lines as well as swimwear and activewear. She used to have 5 or 6 stores in several cities (NYC, Boston, LA, Miami) though sadly they closed in recent years. As a short, curvy woman, I have often thanked God for her dresses. She is the one designer I can count on for clothing I always love and that makes me look good. I'm glad to see she's made another fan!

  2. Madewell has 30% off the sale section today. Some cute boots and lace up flats still there, as well as the geo hole punch pouch and the transport satchel.
