Blargh. I really dislike final sale. Well, we all knew this was coming. So it should not be that much of a surprise. And yet, here I am still disappointed. ;)

  1. OT-some great new arrivals wonder if they will offer a promo on these with the new rollout on the 23rd?

  2. Echoing several comments in the vent thread: the return of final sale is making it easier to keep my resolution to lay off shopping for a while. I did have a moment of weakness when I saw the 70% off -- until I realized that's not an additional percent, just the net effect of the current promo.

    1. Only 11 days in, but I'm going strong, too! -lep33shops

    2. Me too. I do have a couple of gift cards and I am not going to count anything I buy with them but nothing for me out of my pocket.....Let's stay strong. I didn't see anything in the new arrivals and that is good.

    3. Congrats, all! No shopping from me yet, either! Received one item from before the ban was enacted but so far, I've been good. I've stopped looking at sale so that helps. (but is boring!) Have two small gift cards that I consider a 'pass' as well. Wishlisted a few items in today's mini-rollout, but no MUST-HAVES.

    4. Ladies, I'm proud of you for being strong! I'm hanging my head in shame as I've broken my ban. I bought a Harlow cardi (thank you to all who helped with my questions on a previous thread) yesterday with a giftcard so I gave myself a pass but today I bought a pair of lookouts since they went on sale. I always take the same size in them and I tried them on previously but I should know better with final sale as fit issues happen. Back to my shopping ban now I need to do better.

    5. Also going strong on the ban. I've spent my normal sale-stalking time this week putting cute outfits together from the NWT in my closet! Had fun w that and it makes me feel good.

I will use my rewards when it shows up, but I have oodles of what is out there now, need nothing and can wait for new Spring things.

  3. I wouldn't mind final sale so much if sizing were consistent! But when I can wear anywhere from a small to a large, it's really frustrating!

  4. Ugh, final sale is the woooooooooorst. (I'm singing it like Jean-Ralphio from Parks & Rec).

  5. "Technically," I didn't spend anything because my PA's will pay for the grey wool maxi skirt I ordered today. CS was super helpful on processing PAs. Have worn the Tartan plaid version a bunch so happy to finally purchase on sale, even if it's FS. No must haves for me either from the roll out. Did preorders last spring & every item made it to sale, so I'm not in a hurry.

  6. Against my better judgement, I caved :( I think my new eating/workout plan is making me splurge elsewhere. But tomorrow is a new day. I picked up the signet bag in wine ($50!) and the ribbed grey cashmere boatneck tunic sweater.

  7. I'd love to stay my will power was strong, but who am I kidding.

I bit; but really $13 for a tailored linen/cotton shirt down from $104 CDN. I even paid for shipping and it came to $25. Still a score. But with the current weather it will months till I can wear it.

  8. In addition to the sequin heels I ordered first thing this morning, I also ordered the unicorn top from the Drake's collab and a black watch bow tie for my husband to wear the to the event where I will wear my tartan maxi skirt. CS was awesome and took off shipping since my 3 orders combined exceeded the free ship minimum, and I was able to apply a $25 discount card I got in the mail, even after I had applied the 40% off promo. I couldn't pass up the special Drake's item at such a low price.

My philosophy with PAs is that it never hurts to ask, and if I'm not okay with the cost before the PA, I shouldn't pull the trigger. That way, whatever happens is usually a pleasant surprise, and if I'm asking for too much from CS, I'm not really disappointed.

  9. They're making it so easy to not shop there and really not helping themselves turn the business around.

    1. In their defense, this is the longest they waited after the holidays to bring back FS for as far back as I can remember. Previously they've brought it back on Dec. 26.

    2. @Cass, that's a good point! Could be worse. I was able to try and return things that didn't work out during this time. I kept many items so I'm glad they didn't employ FS, otherwise I would not have bought (& kept) some of those items.

  10. Hi, this is off topic, but I have the pixie snap front pants (E1153). The instructions say dry clean only, but I am sorely tempted to machine wash (cold, gentle cycle, lay flat to dry). Has anyone tried washing these? There will be no blame or recriminations :-) Thanks.

    1. I have also machine washed my Pixie pants in the exact way you described and they turned out fine. :) I only have them dry cleaned once over the summer to freshen them up.

    2. I've even washed my pixies with the leather jodhpurs patches in front loader and hang to dry. They came out fine!

    3. Thank you, Kimi and Shopping Celle. Shopping Celle - you are very brave. I passed on Pixies with leather before because I thought that they needed special leather cleaning (which is even more expensive than regular dry-cleaning), but I am now wondering what might have been! Thanks.

  11. I have machine washed my pixie pants with no issues - both the zip back and snap front versions... Delicate, cold water, flat to dry.

  12. The new gingham with grosgrain tie looks so cute. Has anyone tried it yet?

    1. I saw one in my store the other day. It's very cute. I didn't try it on, so I don't know about fit or construction.

  13. Sneaky J.Crew. You hid all the Drake's only to bring it back online and to make it final sale.
